It is 6:30 am, once again I got up early to take advantage of the wonderful sunrise light in Bagan. I therefore head for a temple close to the hotel. When I get there, it is deserted and the first rays of sun hit the top of the Golden dome. I sit and contemplate the amazing site for a few minutes.
Suddenly, I hear the barks of a seemingly panicked dog and soon see him race full speed across the temple court. A little monk runs after him, screaming words whose meaning I not hard to guess. He finally corners him and after a few gentle phrases, succeed to pick him up. The monk then walks back to the exit of the sancturary. The dog is not sure about what is to come, but he has already surrended, leaving his fate to his small protector. I decide to make my presence none and after showing my camera, take a quick snap.
This is probably my favorite shot taken in Myanmar, not only because of the expressions and the light, but also because it was completely unexpected. One picture that will remind me of one wonderful morning. (click on picture for high res)
