Morning market at Inle Lake

It is 6am and our speed boat is ready to cruise over Lake Inle. It is only the two of you and the captain. By leaving early, we will beat the other tourists and see the real market, the ones where only locals trade. (click on pictures for high res)

After a 30 minutes trip at sunrise, a little harbour can be seen on the shores of Lake Inle.

As our driver tries to find a spot, other boats full of goods follow our trail.

And soon the little creek is jammed.

Jumping from a boat to the other, all the goods can finally be unloaded.

And the market can begin, with the stalls allowing the the first rays of sun in.

And for those who have noticed the lack of men in these shots, guess where they were meanwhile 😉

10am, the sun starts to pound, it is already time to leave.
