The bar by the hospital

Our two months old son had a successful surgery today. A minor one, but since it was under anesthesia, it is still a huge moment of stress for parents. As the baby was recovering, I went to the bar next to the hospital to order a couple of sandwiches for take away. There I sat for a while, waiting for the food to be cooked. And then I thought about all these families/friends that must have waited for hours in this bar where time seems to have stopped. Sometimes expecting a good news, sometimes wishing for a miracle and unluckily, sometimes recovering from the loss of a cherished one.   (click on picture for high res)
