The people of Myanmar (Burma) love football. Despite years of isolation, it seems that every kid knows the names of famous players of all around the world. Yet, probably consecutive to decades of British rule, the UK sides are still the most popular and a large majority state Manchester United as their favorite team. It was not different in Bagan where we started to chat with that group of of little monks. The subject of football popped up immediately. So much that it seems to me that their real religion was football and ManU's players their new gods.
I therefore opted for a group portrait since their clothers colors were similar to the famous red of their favorite team. Ladies and gentlemen, here is the Manchester United of Bagan. (click on picture for high res)
