Inwa

The capital of Burma during 500 years, Inwa is nowadays a quiet countryside region. It is part of a concurred touristic route that starts in the city of Sagaing, another former capital and now and important religious center. After crossing a river on a small boat and escaping the flurry of street sellers, the day ends with a horse kart ride among temples and farmers of Inwa. No capital lasts forever.  (click on pictures for high res)
