The floating market

The floating market is another Bangkok classic, and though it has become a little bit too much of a Disneyland on water, you can still get a feel of how local merchants trade over water. A speedboat gets you there after a ride in the town’s canals. And for those of you that noticed that the sailors are mainly women, the last picture will give you a hint of what the village men do meanwhile. (click on pictures for high res)
