Your favorite 2011 picture #31 : Rob Knijn

The island of Bali, Indonesia is our host today with this shot taken by Rob Knijn from Holland.

Leica M8 with 35mm Summicron Asph.

This is what Rob wrote about his picture :

I am a long time Leica photographer, but it is my hobby, my profession is making paintings, I'm an artist. Street photography is my main interest, but I can't seem to find the time to go out and about on a regular basis. But then again I also enjoy the street photography of others. Looking in to books and on the internet of course.

It was shot in Ubud, Bali last month. This is my best street shot this year. I quite like  the way that the persons are cut off at the edge of the frame. They just finished their soccer practice, the boy in front just took a sip of his bottle, you can see that his cheek is filled with water. I also like the way the picture 'reads', one can go around the picture clockwise, from person to person, then to the tree, down, and then the bikes.Admirable is also the spirit of the young boy in front, you can see that his outfit is really dirty after the training session.

Some other pictures and paintings on my website: www.robknijn.nl It's not much, still working on it.
