It is said to be the best beach of Northern Philippines. Very few foreigners make it up there but it is invaded by locals. I guess some secrets must be kept, just like the wonderful sunsets we witnessed here.  (click on pictures for high res) Pictures #2 and #3 with Fuji X10. All others with Leica M8 and 35mm Lux Asph.

Let's head today to Montreal, Canada where Jean-Pierre Pepin took this shot in September. (click on picture for high res) Taken with Fuji X100 This is what Jean-Pierre wrote about his shot : I do a lot of street photography and 2011 has been a good year for me in that regard. I did a quick sorting of my best shots of the year and this little fellow caught my eye and won the prize. I like the retro style of the photo, reminding me of Charlie Chaplin’s movies or of Elliott Erwitt’s dog photographs. This dog should star in...

The Philippines were named after a King of Spain, that is Felipe II. The island would thereafter belong for more than 300 years to the Spanish Kingdom. Not much is left from this period, yet Vigan somehow kept its colonial appearance, mixing a strong European heritage with Asian architectual influence. Walking down its main street, you almost feel in a small Spanish town. Its inhabitants nonetheless, make no confusion possible. Well, almost. (click on pictures for high res) All pictures taken with Leica M8 and 35mm Lux Asph, except second to last with Fuji X10

Can you shoot street photography with family members ? If the moment is candid, I guess so. Here is a shot by Ea Senga from Manila, Philippines. Sony Cybershot. This is what Ea wrote about his picture : I'm Ea from Manila, Philippines and here's my favorite street photo. It's my son on his first ride on his bike. The photo was taken last June, before the official start of classes in Manila. The photo does not do much justice to the joy he experienced on his first ride, as there was a lot of whooping and laughing involved. http://popkingarb.blogspot.com

Since many of you enjoyed the Melbourne series, here is a repeat in Manila. This time it was Enrico Gutierrez (interview coming up in a couple of days) that discreetly took pictures of me in action. I did change the sequence for this series as you'll see the shot I took right after each of his pictures (click on picture for high res) Enrico used an Olympus E-P2 with Panasonic 20mm F1.7 lens. Thank you Enrico for these shots.
